Lean vs rich question.

I am far from a turbo expert, but on my CPR RX1M only jet down the main jets and hold on. Doesn't seem to matter what boost level from 5 psi to 15 psi runs real strong.

Guys,,,, can not believe the size of mains you are using... I have been down that road of runs fine here but not there..... nearly always the problems were the same..... when the fuel line and float bowl presures were not correct, in the case i hear above using 150 or larger main jets it sounds like line and vent presures are too low... so when you chase lean conditions using leaning heavy on the main jets, under boost you can burn the exra fuel, yet at low or no boost, you will run rich.... I would check your added trim-gain on the fuel line presure, check the vent line for leaks,,,then move back to leaner main jets with higher gain-trim on the fuel presure... that is if your system's static presure is 4lbs. more the Added grain-trimp presure up half a pound or so and check the results..... my stage III bender will run in excess of 20lbs of boost with 245 mains at 900ft. alt. ... fires up at the touch of the key and does not miss beat up or down the boost and rpm range...... Not sure if CPR or MC uses a pito tube system to manage vent carb presure, if not you may wish to add it to your system.... the system works great as it allows you to run a smaller main jet for non and low boost conditions, and adjusts for higher fuel needs at the higher boost levels..... and the top off that advantage, you can change jets on the pito tube for mixture changes in less than 5 mins... its a great system that you could add to your systems... Hope you find your problems, your turbo sled should not miss a beat with the right tune up.... good luck..

???.................245?

How do I check the gain? What you are saying is making sense. I will check all my lines, clamps etc. I leaned my pilot screws another 1/4 turn and she fires up 1st turn in the shop so that must be close. plugs were pretty black with the 148's. maybe i need to jet down and put some black tape over my A/F meter?

Sly,,, their should be a fuel presure booster that will add a specific increase in fuel presure over and above your static presure of the electric at idle or no boost conditions... that is to say, you can set it to run 4,5,6, pounds of presure over your boost presure as it goes up or stays the same.... so , if your electric pump puts out 4lbs of presure, you adjust the valve so it add 4 lbs, and at 10 lbs of boost your pump will adjust to put out 14lbs of presure... you may wish to adjust up this gain adjustment so if you are set at 4 lbs over static presure, you move it up to 4.5 lbs or 5... so at idle or off boost you are normal carb jetting,, as boost comes on, your presure goes up... in my stage II, i run the boost at max, jet i have stock jets and needles... again with bender you have a pito that allows better fueling options at higher boost... give me a call and i can go over...

I won't be going out today, it was -39C this morning and i think its warmed up to about -33C. this weather is insane, those temps are actuals, none of the windchill bs factored in.......brrrrr

I thought it was cold here but we're experiencing a heatwave compared to you Slymax. High today is -5F and the low will be -15F.

I would have lots of miles on my sled if the temps were what you have, probably have the jetting and clutching dialed as well. Oh well, drove to work this morning -33C. Been nasty since I got the sled done and it started to snow. Went to the Mtns last weekend and it was too cold to ride, same thing this weekend, glad I didn't go again.
