I am going to re-route the vent to push outward with a pc. of plastic. I don't need a wet foot. Also going to look at the right side to vent.

Think you all be used to wet boots and pants riding this nytro. Same stupid tunnel/exhaust system as on the phazer. I had a phazer fx last year and I dont remember how many times my pants froze like glued to the tunnel because of all the water spreading all over tunnel and runningboards. Snow hit muffler, melts and spreads all over and inside tunnel. Not to talk about HUGE ice build up problems in tunnel and rear skid. I had up to 50lbs of ice in/on my tunnel/rear skid under certain conditions last year. (powder, -10 deg celcius and colder) And yes I have seen the same thing happen on the nytro. Was driving with two friends for some weeks ago and the nytro had the same problems as on the last year phazer.
sniperviper, The nytro does not have the same problem with ice/water on the runningboards as the PZ. Inside tunnel is similar.
I have the same problem with the left boot getting soaking wet when riding in powder. It is defenetly hot air from clutches that is causing the problem.
I have the DC Yamaha boots.
A little dissapointing to get wet when those boots are so epensive!
Maybe i should hve bought Klim boots instead.
Or maybe a Klim boot for my left foot!

EpsonPZ, I have seen it with my own eyes, but the ammount of water was not so much as on the phazer (spreading over tunnel and runningboards). The plastic panels seems to help on that issue but they are not "sealed" to the tunnel so on both the nytro's I was driving with there was water "leaking" under the plastic panels.
I don't care for the way the vent melts snow on both your boots and pant leg. I also noticed slight ice build-up on the sides of my tunnel from melt water refreezing on the outside. It only happened during single digit cold, dry powder conditions. It wasn't bad, but I see the potential for issues on a long ride.
My ZX 440 created ice build up on the sides of my tunnel as well. I was able to almost completely eliminate it by applying sealent around the top of the tunnel heat exchanger.

It sounds like a catch 22....your boot/leg stays warm until it get's wet.....

I used to get a wet boot on my Apex too. I eventually went with the old boot liner in the plastic bag trick like when my mom used to send me out when I was little. Would be nice to close vents by your feet and put some on the side or at least deflect the water some how. By the way I have Trukke boots.

WOW! I just rode 160 miles with my new RU Outside boots and my left boot was also SOPPING WET too. I thought it was my new boots, but this interesting to see on here......

Same here. I actually think at times my socks were floating inside my liners.BLUEBALLER said:sstickler said:clicker_clit said:What are you guys having problems with? I don't understand.
Look at the picture...worth a thousand words
I just came in an hour ago, I could still probably wring out a cup full of water out of my sock

I have never had a problem with my lower leg or feet getting cold or wet...from my early days on Polaris...to the day I saw the light in 2002 and bought the RX-1SE, Warrior, another RX-1, and an Apex GT...
Do we need warm air coming out there?
I spoke to my dealer this AM and he is heading to CA for a meeting with Yamaha tomorrow...he said he will bring this up...
And yes, I did tell him again to tell them that the hand/thumbwarmers still SUCK!
There...I said it...now I feel better
