I am coming off a Skidog Rev 600 I just bought a 2007 RTX Apex. On the straight stretches well that'll be no problems. My burning question is how will the RTX rate compared to the Rev in the bumpy tight, twisty trails. .

It won't. Not the same kind of sled. It'll do well for you until the bumps get big and you drive 7/10's or faster. They start showing there weight then. For most trail riding, you'll love it though. The motor is intoxicating.

I have both a 06 Apex GT and a 05 MXZ 600 HO.
I ride with a friend that has a 03 MXZ 600 HO and another that has a 06 MXZ 600.
The Apex shines when the trails are smooth and straight.Untouchable and an amazing sled.Great sled for long all day rides.Seating position is more comfy as you don`t have to stretch out the knees as much.

The Apex RTX is fine if its set up right and if the bumps don`t get too big then the weight is tough to handle all day.I have ridden with friends that have a couple RTX`s and they did fine in the bumps.Once you get used to throwing the weight around you will be fine.

apex does great in the twisties, as long as you have a larger sway bar.. and good carbides..

it also does well in the bump eating department.. but im sure when it gets really nasty the weight of the beast will be alot harder to control than that little 600 2 smoke..

we are not saying anyone is going to leave you in the dust.. because that just wont happen,, but you will feel the extra weight and adjust for it..

Between the two sled it is a completely different riding style while going thru the tight twisties. The RTX will do great until you get into the bigger moguls in the turns compared to the 600. Are you coming off a X or adren.?

13mm, just get it. Look at some big carbides too, your going to want some ski traction if riding aggressively, and maybe stud it too if you want, the apex/attak already come with tunnel protectors.

Dont think that just because there is some comments on here that say that the rev seems to handle the twisties better, it may only seem that way because there is several different peoples opinions all in one. When really, the Apex can do anything a rev can and more, it all depends on how you drive it. Take it out and find out all of its balance points, and how you should manage the throttle, so preety much get a really good feel for the sled.

I ride an Attak and nothing beats me anywhere, just because of the way I ride and I know my sled in and out. Know how to ride and know what your limit is, this sled can get you into a place you dont want to be in a hurry, its fassssstttt!

I've owned 6 revs and still have one in the garage. When the g/f and I switch on the trail, I can't wait to get the Apex back. Funny thing is, when the Rev first came out, it took me a good while to learn how to really ride it properly. I jumped on the Apex for the first time and it felt natural. The Rev has the edge in the bumps for sure but my Apex runs twisty goat trails with less body roll than any Rev I've ever owned. I have no regrets in switching to Yammie.
