Light bar


I modified my front bumper by cutting the top loop off and adding a bar that wraps around both sides of the fronts and added mounting tabs for the LEDS. The bumper is way more functional now and offers better protection for plowing through brush. I grab a picture when I'm out in the garage later.

I have buddies that have bolted on aux lighting. Very bright yes, but throw good forward light not really. 6 led light bar vs 6bulb pods like your blue and my single 2”x2” spots (BRP, built my ridgid) mine by far out did them.
If you going to put AUX lighting on I highly recommend buying brand name ones OR go with HID.
AMAZON leds imo are cheap and have disceptive ads. You really have to read what the true output is. (30watts meanwhile at 6 bulbs per unit they are only 5 watts per bulb...6x5=30) that’s not a lot of power for forward projection. The beam pattern and colour (4300k-6000k ect).
The ones on my sled at 5500k we’re awesome. Single led and 20* pattern. Light waaaaay down trail. BUT, stormy snowy weather or following in snow dust they light up the snow so much you couldn’t see through it. Turned off and used stock light and cut through much better. I’ve tried a few amazon leds myself personally.
Food for thought.

Depends on the use, for pure Spot beam I'd go Rigid hands down, for Flood beam I like the pattern these cheapy light put out. The pattern a bit odd, they actually put out a noticeably brighter hot spot and then flood the rest of the area with light that is about 50% as bright. I used them with high beams to be able to see bumps and up and down hills far better without having to flip back to low beams all the time. They are also great as lighting up eyeballs on critters far off to each side, something the stock lights don't do. I ran a diode that powers them up with the highbeams but I can also flip them on with a switch too. The ones on my sled have genuine Cree chips and actually test close to the 18w spec with a 16.5w draw each. I have some that look identical, but have cree knockoff chips and only draw 9w (advertised as 24w) so it's a big crapshoot on getting a "fairly good" or "bad" with the Chinese knockoffs. Every light I've purchased with Auxbeam stamped on them has actually been close to the advertised spec and come with the genuine leds that they advertise. The 6x1 bar on my Viper I modified by replacing 2 of the leds with 3700k color temperature leds to get a warmer light out of it. I just don't understand why no one is building LED pods with "halogen" color leds, the color rendition is over 90% on the warm colors and far better on your eyes. I've seen a few 3000K on the market but those are too yellow, but DO work good in snow dust.
 
When it comes to aux light, I only trust two brands, Rigid and Baja Desing. I had a bad experience on my truck and I prefer buying good quality product. I Am now running a Rigid light bar on my truck. No trouble at all. The Baja Desing Squadron sport that I am running on my dirt bike is just amazing so far.

ATV PRO what is the BPR kit that you have on?

It might be what I saw on a Renagade Enduro that I saw at the Valcourt show last weekend. That is where I got my idea from.

Yes. It’s what I had on. Replaced my headlight cover when I wrapped sled. I chose those because they were so light and I thought they would work good up there. I ended up having to wedge a rag to stop the vibrating. Plus I broke one of those plastic pins when taking the rubber grommet off awhile back.
I’m trying “Hella” 90/130w bulbs right now.
They work great but I do miss what blue was saying that additional spread of light with auxiliary lights. Our stators only put up 440w at 5000rpm. Two 90w, yes I’m using low beam only, is close to max I can draw for the 20amp fuse. I know for sure if I use high beam I’m going to blow fuse.
Been in sled for almost 2k now. Do work very very well but have been jumping off sled often with my Phillip’s stubby in pocket to adjust a lot. Haven’t had no dead battery. Hand warmers in high a lot (been so cold lately) but do notice headlights dim slightly when fan come on.
Sum it up here, I’m more than likely going back to auxiliary lighting myself.

Thanks for the tech info ATV Pro, electricity is not something that I am good at. I heard of auxbeam on You Tube product reviews. What I am thinking is making 2 supports brackets that would bolt on top of the shock mount. That should not move at all and I should be able to get the electrical cable in from there.

I really like what blue did to his bumper but I have a GYTR bumper and I don't want to mod it too much.

With gytr bumper I was thinking of drilling holes and getting longer stove bolts. Only thing I’m worried about is tightening too much and crushing tube. I’m thinking the lower on sled the better.
 
I am looking for 2 small LED pod light to give it a try.

Change of subject, I was going to replace my head light with LED units last night. But when I removed the head light cover, I realized that there is probably not enough room to fit them. They would get in contact with those cables that run down from the handle bar. Plus, the rubbers seals will not pass trough those fan motor that are at the back of those light. Too bad, I have found a great kit that I wanted to try.

Look like I will stay stock. :(
