A lot of guys are going 4300k HID's. They be brighter definitely, but hopefully not blinding.
Another option is Silverstars, which are more white/ brighter than stock.

I am going to pick up some silverstar ultras, the HID kits are sweet, but I cannot drop that kind of money on an HID kit.

Thinking about upgrading John?
I am curious, after reading all about HID kits and aftermarket bulbs if my lights will be bright enough?

The Silverstar Ultras are a bulb replacement. They are easy to swap out.
The HID kits, whereever you get them from, will be similar to install. It is not difficult at all. I bought mine from Snowdog earlier this year.
Here's how they look......
Can't wait to try them on the trails!

I have DDM hids in my bike and truck. I will never go back to regular halogen again. Currently I have Royal Distributing 130watt Xenon in my Apex and last year they seemd very bright compared to the crappy stock lights. I have no doubt the HIDs would be even better.

Curious if these aftermarket bulbs last as long as the stocker lights and also curious if they draw more power and if so, can you notice the reduced juice in other areas like handle bar warmers or your gauges?

I don't think there is a part number for sleds. I just got a set with the same watts as the stock bulbs. I have a phazer and the bulbs are 60/55W.mr. shide said:yamahas said:Irv said:Curious if these aftermarket bulbs last as long as the stocker lights and also curious if they draw more power and if so, can you notice the reduced juice in other areas like handle bar warmers or your gauges?

Silverstars are available anywhere that sells regular replacement bulbs -- Wal-Mart, auto parts stores, etc.
