I added a yz10 battery & would like a USA supplier for a smaller battery bracket. I found one in Canada, but the shipping was $50.
Thanks.
Thanks.

How much lighter is that battery?
ytz 10 saves about 10 pounds, ytz 7 saves even more. ski

I thought the 10 saved 7.5 lbs and the 7 saves 10 lbs?

What's the point behind this battery? Simply weight savings or is there some other benefit as well?

Simply cheap weight savings. You can get cheap versions for $40-70. The YUASA one is about $130 which is the one I bought.

Clever... but do you really think you'll notice the difference?

watch the 7, way lighter but won't turn the engine fast enough in temps below -20 celcius.

That's why I went with the 10. No issues even starting when it's -20 F. As for noticing a difference, probably not just from the battery, but it all adds up in the end.

According to the Yuasa web site you saved 4.2 lbs by going to the YTZ10s from stock, and now you only have half the AMPS and about 2/3rds the CCA (cold cranking amps) Good luck!! I'm glad you didn't go with the YTZ7 i'm sure that couldn't run my nose hair trimmer.. Hope your buddies ride Yammies so at least they can jump ya.

Since I weighed both batteries personally, I will trust myself. Stock was a little over 14 lbs and the YTZ was 7 lbs(just looked my notes). Lots of people have been running the 10 for the last few years without any problems.

Yuasa says 7 lbs for theytz10 so your both the same on that one but yuasa says 11.2 for the stock and you say 14 so you are saving more than i said earlier and if there are guys running them and having no problems then that's good. But in a world where light weight is king why would Yammi not just simply use that battery so they could post a 7lb lighter sled, that's a easy 7 lbs. So this is were i get thinking that the amps and cca's are a imporant issue. maybe it's Yammie being such a worry whart that one of their sleds would not start.
but that's just me thinking and that's not always good...
