OK Guys, now that this thing is running like a bat out of hell I developed ski lift in the corners that I didnt last year. I lost 75 pounds since last year and I know I gotta soften up the suspension a little. My question is about the limiter straps, I think someone on here said loosen them all the way up, is this correct???? And by loosening them does that mean just keep enough threads to fill the adjuster nut? Please, a little help fella's.

Since you said "last year", I assume you have the 03 shorty. Did you install the straight rate springs?

You don't want to loosen the limiter. That takes weight off the skis(more ski lift). Tighten the limiters a little at a time until it works. I only had to tighten them up a 1/4" to keep the skis down. You can also put on a heavier sway bar from Pioneer Perf. and longer links from your Yami dealer. Some say the sraight rate springs also fix it. Can't say about that as I put Ohlins shocks on...................Craig

Yoiu will never cure the ski lift problem with the stock set up. Yam really missed the boat on the 03. I tried numerous combinations of limiter strap length and spring tension to no avail. I put the straight rate springs on this summer and voila, ski lift drastically reduced. I still wasn't completely satisfied so I put the longer links on and have yet to ride.

Ummmm, duh, I forgot to tell youse I got the longer links already on the sway bar. So tighten the limiter strap a little each time?

You have to do the straight rate springs. Here is my report on eliminating the ski lift on the 03 shorty.

No problem, but it was many others on this board that found the cure. I just implemented what the experts said worked and reported back that I had similar results. My springs were from Yamaha at 1.9kg, but you can go more aggressive to the Max Performance 2.1kg or 2.3kg since I did not notice any degradation in the front end.

Yup, suisse sledder I totally agree. The experts on here are awesome. Thats why I asked this question on this forum because I knew that I would get the right answer. I keep saying how extreemly happy I am with my sled now but what I should be saying is how cool this forum is because without it, I wouldnt be happy with my sled as I am now. Thanks again.
