2015 Yamaha SR Viper R-TX SE
hey guys so I/m new to the four stroke forum, I finally switched from my 2000 sxr 700 and bought a 2015 sr viper rtx se. my question, is that im goin g to Quebec this year for a 10 day 2000 km trip and im a little worried about the sled, with all the low life degenerates out there that like to steal hard working peoples toys from the hotels. any ideas on some good anti-theft precautions for my new baby? never go back to a two stroke again

Would be nice to have one long enough to go through the bar riser so the morons can see its locked up. Man I dont even like thinking about this topic.

Welcome to the forums!

I like a big obvious chain linked in and out and preferably around something solid as well.

Thats pretty much what i figured, cable locks might be the way to go. Chains are better but to heavy to carry gor ten days. Not sure how easy these sleds are to steal, but im riding with guys with ski poos that worries me even more cause that just makes mine even more appealing lol

Concur with Python locks. They work great and are easy enough travel with. I would make sure you attach it to something solid or connect a few sleds together etc...

All I can say is that I've heard a lot of horror stories about Quebec (some areas worse than others) and know one person who had their entire rig stolen- truck, trailer and sleds. Be very careful about everything you bring and park next to your room if you can in a highly visible area. Some hotels offer locked compounds too.

I would go with heavy chains, cable locks will cut like butter with any cheap set of bolt cutters.

I installed a GPS tracker in mine that I can access from my cell phone. It is awsome, it activates on motion and can show your trail. So I can use it to track my rides and if anyone steals it gives me directions right to their door.

Another option

The little one has grown into her ears a lot better now.

What system do you use?

Link to that device please? (unless one of the paid vendors sells one...lol)
