Well, I have a couple K miles on Pioneer's Offset Wheel/Axle Kit. Here is my result:

The rear axle works very well. After a couple K miles on the hyfax they were worn fairly uniformly from the first set of front wheels back and still had just shy of 3/4 of the original thickness left. However, the Hyfax was gone in front of the front wheels.

The offsets for the front four wheels set the wheels out 1/8" further from the center of the track. The track is now noticeably turned down at the wheels and there has been extreme hyfax wear at the point just in front of the lead wheels, right down through the hyfax. Previously, this was not a wear area until I put on the Offsets. The track tension was exactly where I had run it before I tried the offsets, for years.

I figure that the offsets pushed the wheels out to far. The edge of the track curled down and then the track hits the hyfax harder. I machined the extra 1/8 the offset devices add, off the mounts. But, who knows if the track has been ruined or not. I have never seen one turned down at the edges like that. I also flipped the second set of wheels to the inside of the rails. Again, to center them, you have to machine off the 1/8" the offsets add. I suspect that they will support the track better on the inside of the rails. Wish I could do that on the front set. Anyone else try flipping the second set of wheels to the inside?

Also, I pulled up the straps a bit to change the angle of impact. I suppose, I will have to be friggin' around with the Shock Springs tomorrow to compensate for the strap change. Also, I may try running the track a bit tighter too.

This sounds very odd, but I'm probably not interpreting what you said right.

Are you saying that moving thel idler wheels down increased the hyfax wear away from the wheels?

Are you saying that the track itself is somehow bent down at the edges due to moving the idler wheels down?
