Everything is a compromise, I owned both last season, a 121 and a 136. Never studded either one. Traction much improved on the 136 over the 121. Handling in the twisties better on the 121, Yamaha might have the answer now, 128. I really think it might be the best of both worlds. IMO

extension
I changed my apex just recently ...I used a Muffinworks kit...they powdercoated the extension for a few bucks more...Looks deadly...I bought the rail and tunnel kit from them...Shipping to the door for $40.00 I think it was...and I am here in Newfoundland..

can't tell you about the ride difference but I know when I done other 121-136 conversions the change was incredible ...Better!!

Think it depends on you size. Big guys seem to prefer the longer track as they can muscle them around easier. Went from a 2000 SRX to a 2004 Warrior listening to the media hype about the benifits of the 136. Hated the long track on anything but rail or fast logging trails. Traded for a 2005 RX1 and much preffered the handling! Now I'm a small guy, 5'7" and 175lbs. Six footers over 200lbs wouldn't complain...
