I'm buying my first 4 stroke, looking at some higher miled (5000 mi range) apexes and attaks. I'm completely new to these 4 strokes, what should I be watching out for? What wears out and goes wrong at that stage? The prices seem to be pretty reasonable but I want reliability. Also, what changes were made from 2006 to 2007?

Worn driver and jackshaft bearings. Worn bushings for the A arms and cracks in the W arm in the suspension and rails. Check the hand warmers.

Exhaust donuts....
Exhaust problems can get expensive quickly!
Listen for ticking while on idle, especially when cold and backfiring when spooling down/coasting after it's warmed up.

Check the track clips and other wear points as well.

Apparently but there are lots here that would argue that point. lol

The normal stuff on any sled & donuts. 06 was very soft too much bottoming ...in 07 this was corrected. If 170lbs no worry if 200 or over 07 would be better. 07 better hand warmers as to. 06 was 1st year of Apex but not bad 07 better.

Thanks for the replies. The donuts and y pipes were replaced less than 1000 mi ago.
