Looking for opinions from people that have installed a header on their 998s.
Was it worth it?
Would you do it again for trail riding or stay with stock manifold?

I did the header this year. As soon as snow flies, I will have an opinion.

One season with hurricane more clearance header.
Must update tunes for header and 3 bar map.
Did several changes at that time including updated tune bundle from race tunes to the ss o2 header tunes.
Really woke it up big time down low and all the way thru rpm range.
I would do it again.

Been running one since 2018. Definitely noticeable and worth it IMHO.

Love my header tunes , it is definitely a noticeable upgrade
I like the fact that you run lower boost pressures to achieve the same hp as oem
Header 300@17psi vs oem 300@20psi

Are you guys running the header into the stock can? How does that set up work vs tunes into stock can?
I am not willing to run a loud muffler to get the extra power.

I think you need to run it on the perf muffler to get the true performance, plus it would run really hot with the header and SM.

Header makes power into a free flowing muffler but would be no point into stock muffler. Are you guys running the header into the stock can? How does that set up work vs tunes into stock can?

This is what I thought.plus it would run really hot with the header and SM.
I have not yet seen one that is quiet AND makes power. I tried one last year and it was quiet but didn't make any power.Performance muffler.
Maybe the old adage " you cant have power without noise" is true.
I have ridden the Hurricane trail muffler. It did make more power than the trail muffler I had but it was too loud for me.

You may want to consider the Sandale stock mod. They dyno'd better than the others back when I decided to go with them and it is pretty quiet. This is what I thought.

Sandale has been pretty quiet, I wonder what ever happened to their Header campaign?
