I am not familiar with the 2003-06 fourstroke sleds but am starting to see many prices fall between the $3000-$4000 range lately. I am looking for a nice sled to purchase for my wife to ride and wanting to stay under $4000. Would really like to buy her a fourstroke for obvious reasons, nothing too powerful. Something she can manuever fairly easily on the trails. Warrior, Venum, Attak??? RX-1's too powerful? Rage is pricey. The Vector's are on the bubble/Venture's more than them. Some of the 07 Phazors are priced around $4000 but would I need to spend more money to correct first year troubles? I believe there were anyway~ and not sure what that would cost?? Maybe a 500 or 600 Yami two stroke because she is only 5'3"? I have no idea what the women are riding out there~curious. I have an 09 Vector but she wasn't able to ride it because we live in seperate states. She's excited. Our tax money is on the way. Any and all feedback is really greatly appreciated. Thanks All

Actually found some 2005 Rage's under $4000 and higher mileage 2005 Vector's. Seeking opinions though for womens sled.
I would recommend the phazer GT, you should be able to find some 08's probably around your price range.... that way you bypass the first year issues.... if not, the vector is a solid sled, just a little heavier.....

I agree with OnlyBlue, the Phazers are nice, comfortable, quick but not to fast and reliable! my wife has a Rage and it is also a great sled but not to much for her.

08 Phazer would be a great sled. You should be able to get one in the right price range

My wife had an 05 vector, loved it. the only thing I did was put simmons skis on it so it didnt dart.
Its great on fuel and was completely trouble free. plus the high windshield keeps them very warm.
just from my wife's opinion she liked the 05 vector better then the 07 phazer. but now she likes the 08 nytro better then the vector. she hates my 06 apex, to heavy and has trouble controlling the power.
I think she would be very comfortable on the rage, vector or a phazer.
big thing is set the machine up for her and make her comfortable. thats the trick to making her love anything you buy her. Cause trust me if something is wrong THEY WILL LET YOU KNOW! haha

My advice is don't worry about the power of the sled - she can ride it however she wants. 4 strokes aren't like 2 strokes where you have to keep the RPM's up to ride them. A big, powerful 4 stroke can be putted down the trail all day long, no problem. Don't want to go fast? don't push the flipper too hard.
The biggest thing, more than the motor, is get one that she's comfortable on, something with good plush suspension, and get her a set of dooley's or deuce bars for it so it doesn't dart. My ex rode an 05 Vector, and absolutely loved it. She didn't care about the power or speed, she just liked it because it fit her comfortably. All she did was sit on different sleds until she found the one that was comfortable. 05 Vectors can be had for <$4 if you spend sometime looking, especially this time of year. In fact, I just sold that one I had for $4000. One thing about Vectors, if you can pony up for one year newer (2006) you'll get it with the mono-shock rear suspension, which is considerably more plush and trail friendly than the torsion spring skid that was in the 05's. The torsion spring skid was a good suspension, don't get me wrong, it's just not quite as plush as the mono-shock.

Thanks for ALL of the feedback and advice. Greatly appreciated! When she gets here we'll go to a dealer and look at the newer sleds and see what she feels the most comfortable on. See how she feels on the Vector vs Phazor so that way I know where to start size wise. Probably won't take long for her to choose~ I hope. And then I'll look for her a used Phazor GT, Vector, Rage from there. Not sure if the prices will drop much more with the season ending soon but I'll be watching close. Be nice to talk her into a new Nytro but she's wanting a bedroom suite too! Go figure!? Thanks for all of the advice!! Love this site-best out there

My wifes first Sled was an RX1 she loves the power and it's an 05 so with the mono she's a happy camper. Like YamahaOutlaw said if it handles good it don't matter how heavy it is, at least till ya get her buried anyhow and then she'll be looking for YOU anyway
