Hi All,

I am looking for suggetions to make a tunnel dump exhaust quieter - the exhaust started as a TJ's tunnel dump and had to be cut down by 4-6"'s to make it fit. Any ideas on what to do with it to reduce the noise? I am trying to avoid any tickets - I know some states and parts of Canada claim that if it is modified in any way you get a ticket, but I feel I have a better chance of flying under the radar with the sled being somewhat quiet!

When I installed mine, it was the same way, ticket territory & it droned in my helmet.

Purchased a Samson exhaust baffle for a Harley & that did the trick!
On mine, just cut off one end and slipped it in, one bolt & it was done.

You can get slip-in baffles at most Harley shops.

Rock :-o

Rock -
I guess I should start the sled to see how loud it is, I still have yet to hear this pig run - EVER!! I will look into the baffle!! Does anybody know the Db reading for a stock Apex?

maybe verify that the packing is complete and fluffy - under the tunnel with snow packed in the tunnel it will be a bit quieter than on the trailer - I would think with it pointing down, that should keep some of the crackle down. if the laws say no mods, making it quiet won't help. I know you would get pinched if you rode in wisconsin.

I figured if it was quieter it would be less obvious - it is packed full and my only thought was to put a baffle in the thru pipe - not sure if it would restrict it to much or not! I need to get it out of the garage and moving down the trail for a sound check!!!
