I am looking at a 2009 nytro fx and was wondering if someone may let me know of any weak points in the sled I should look for before putting out the cash. Also things I may need to look into ( besides the steering and hand warmers) before I start to enjoy it :4STroke: ?
Thanks in Advance

slide wear, ball joints, a arm bushings, crap skis, crap handwarmers. Other than that you will have a huge smile on your face when you squeeze the throttle!

Overheating, darting, weak sub-frame, ice build up in tunnel, stock skid plate... :o|
But the engine hauls the mail 0-90mph...If you want more top end go Apex or Boost & gear it.

Don't let all the negative on here get to you, there are a few issues. I have pilot skiis, Wahl drivers and all I do it add gas and drive the hell out it, Keeping an eye on ball joints and bushings. I seen the guts of two 800Rs this week, I'll work with ball joints..Hard warmers are fine on my 09 FX..

I've never owned a sled that didn't require set-up for my style. A buddy that has the same sled as me will not have his the same either as he enjoys a stiffer ride. Every aspect of this sled can be evaluated. What do you want? And what do you want this sled to do? My ball joints are still tight, my hand warmers on high burn my hands( usually set at 2 bars for comfort), my slides did wear out at 2000(installed white poo slides and fully clipped the track for a fix). I've only got 160 miles on the new slides, but whipity-doo. Slides are 40 a pair. On the grand number of Nytros sold vs the bs whining on this site is honestly not the real picture you need to see. Find one to ride and see if you like it. There are some on here that can help with most of the issues you may come upon. Remeber, not everything negative on here will happen to you.

X2 on that. Also not all the problems some have is not all Yamahas fault either.

There is no such thing as the perfect snowmobile every brand and every model have issues. I have a 09 XTX and love it. Exhaust donuts wore out and one of the flexible head pipes broke at 5000 miles. Had I replaced the donuts at 4000 miles when I noticed the exhaust rattling the flex pipe would not have broke but it was the first of four day trip so rode it anyway. My new 96 polaris had 2 broken exhaust pipes at less than 500 miles both machines were covered under warrenty.
