Part of the snowing kit service bulletin was to re-torque the front mount bolts to I think 59 ft lbs. Use a new nut(s) and red loctite new time I guess.

Just got home from a weekend riding, 460 miles on my sled and was going to do a oil change before the next ride,
When I pulled the bottom pan off 2 bolts fell out. 1. being a long 4 inch bolt, I found the nut in the clutch area.
2. was a small m12, looks like it cam out of the engine frame.
what is up here, should I take it back to the dealer?

Unless frame doesnt lineup with hole for bolt anymore dont bother.Just grab Loctite and torque wrench and put them back in your self. Was the safety recall done on your sled this year?Part of that included left motor mount bolt.Last year with spindle nut recall the right engine mounting bolt was in that one.Notice a trend?Loctite and torque every nut and bolt you can get at.

So they claim. Know the frame does not line up any more!!!!!!!!!!!! my big concern is the long bolt. I need to understand where it came from. I need to be able to see if they put it back in.
Its got to be one of the engine mount bolts.Or one of your buddies played a really dirty trick on you!

Dealer said that there is no service bulletin on this and he has never heard of this problem.

Yes there is.When they did the safety recall this year in the instructions it said to do the left one.Along with cotterpins, sleeves, braces and rubber blocks for snow in engine compartment.Last year it said to do right one.I am positive of this.Maybe a dealer here can post the instructions. There is no bulletins for any other bolts but it is obvious from the bulletins there are:Spindles, both motor mounts and cotterpins that NONE of the bolts can be trusted to be torqued and none that I have found are Loctited from factory. If your frame bolt fell out it is because of shoddy assembly as evidenced from the rest of the official Yamaha bulletins.Dont let anyone try to say it is your fault that bolt fell out unless you took it out previously.

There is no way in hell this was my fault:
I just got back from the dealer, they have never seen this problem the 2 missing bolts are on the frame right above and below the rad. The painted black part of the frame where it bolts to the aluminum Die cast, is twisted, and the bolts do not align, it is about .500" off. There is no sign of loc tite on the bolt threads and /or what part of the internal threads you can see. The condition of the bolts are fine, none of the threads are damaged, stretched or deformed in any way, in fact I brought them to work and ran them through a thread gage, they are fine. They vibrated loose and that is it.
Where can I find a site that has Yamaha's recalls? I would not mind reading through them my self.
As for the dealership, we will see they have been good to me so far.
I am still quite happy with the sled and do not regret it.

As far as I know the instructions were never posted anywhere.Your dealer will have them along with the kits for safety recall. The one bolt is your motor mount bolt right side which was supposed to be done last year.Other is frame bolt exact same bolt that fell out of mine. Here is pics and report.Stick with it there is a end to issues. This weekend I finally got over 500mi on without anything going wrong.Hope for many more of those.
