I just came home after 10 days in Maine . 4 days in Jackman including a day of riding in over 20 inches of new powder. I was unstoppable on my Apex XTX. It powers through deep snow ( over 3 feet in some parts)and just does not get stuck. I took my 07 Attak GT out and buried it in the deep powder. I love that Attak GT but it can not do what the XTX can do.Also rode a day in the Katadin loop at the legendary Jo-Mary trails and I have never ridden those trails any faster than I did with my 14 XTX.Nothing could keep up. The acceleration out of the turns is unmatched. The power steering works great , especially in the tighter turns.I run Simmons skis and I have the sled dialed in and the XTX rails. I get a kick when I stop at an intersection and wait for some of the others and they can't believe that a "heavy Yamaha "can run this fast on these trails. Then I am up in the county on the super fast wide trails with big sweeper turns and it is just lights out. Permagrin is the word that comes to mind. All of this performance and unmatched reliability to boot. I was at my dealer and we calculated that my family has ridden about 65,000 miles on our 04 Warrior,05 vector,4 07 Attaks and now a 14 Apex XTX and we have not had any major issues. Yes we have done the donuts , and the excell wheels ( on the 07's ) but we have been able to get back to camp or home each time.I hear some of the complaints about weight and hyfax issues but we have a great dealer and he has solved those issues for us.snowmobiling is about getting as much time on the sled as possible since it is a short season and we have got our monies worth with our 4 stroke Yamahas.
