anybody find out they have low compression in a cylinder and keep on spraying. just curious :nos

if just on cylinder is lower then 10% from the rest you have a internal problem stop sraying befor it is to late and damage the block

I did...now I'm parting out my sled :(

If compression 10% lower then maybe you broke a ring land on the piston. Tear it down and change that piston and rings before you score the cylinder up or screw the cylinder head up.

Piston and rings are cheap....cylinder block and head are big money.

had a broken ring land on 1 piston and low compression.had to send the block out for repair.stop spraying

when i was looking for a complete engine these things were getting hard to find and the 1-2 i did find they wanted top dollar.fix your problem

what if I just stop spraying and take it easy on her. going to up grade next year

I would take your sled in and have the valve clearances checked. I have a 03 rx1 mnt. with 9680km. I sprayed for one season and this sled has seen a lot of WOT. I had checked my comp. before spraying and it was pretty much 200 across the board. Checked my comp. before this season and it was all over the place. 1-180/2-166/3-180/4-160. Needless to say I was worried. After talking to my yamaha dealer, I brought it in to have the valve clearences checked. The exaust valves were good. The intake valves were out of spec. Now my comp. is 1-204/2-200/3-195/4-201. I know I should have done a leak down test also but somehow it got missed. Next time.

I've been meaning to do a leak down but short on time. I took up to Wis. and still runs strong. but I took the nitrous off because It will be going on my next sled. I now have the spacer plates I made for sale. If any body needs them.
