Low Gas Mileage - Anyone else?

Gas Mileage is also "extremely" dependent on conditions. Cold day with hard packed trails my apex will get 16 mpg. Warm day with wet snow or cold day with deep snow 8 mpg.
Agreed & this is totally dependent on conditions & right thumb "happiness''. I always did as well if not better on my Apex as "any" sled in my category. There were times either 3' new snow or WOT that i averaged around 8 mpg, but my buds' E-tec did the same so it wasn't just me. I've gone 150 miles on that same sled & still more in tank...so the MPG on this sled will be measured in TH...Thumb Happiness...more TH=low MPG...less TH=good MPG...

Still breaking it in, and I haven't had it over 6k yet.
It doesnt say not to go over 6000 rpms , just avoid prolonged stretches over 6000.
I dont think it is possible to ride the SW at less than 6000 !

Nonsense. V max 4s made 100 miles. My Apex is juiced and I drive it hard all the time. 14-15 mpg. Let's see my 2015 Mustang GT has 200 more hp than my old 5.0 and gets 26 mpg. more and is more powerful. Not saying I want an ace motor but making 100 is not too much to ask.

Burp the tank and @ 70 miles you will still be on 1/2. You can't compare a sled thats running high rpm to a car with a gear box that runs @ like 3-4k rpm

I understand that. It's the technological comparison I was making era to era. How about my buddies TD juiced zuk got 12.5 to 14 mpg all last season, not even that would want that motor. It's all good I'll work around if but at this asking price...just sayin.

Just checked my mileage in 35degF temps wet sticky snow on a BTX LE and got 10.6mpg you ltx guys should get 12-14

I'm hearing these reports comparing it to fueling a Doo and Nytro and an Apex. I got an idea. Go ride with a turbo viper and see how ya do.
I had viper T for the last 2 season.... (11 700km).

THE SW is drinking a LOT!!!

Wonder if the best bet for mpg is to try and make the drive line more efficient. This is my first procross chassis sled. Wonder what the tricks are for less rolling resistance, I am sure DuPont hyfax and extra idler wheels would add in this?

The duponts might help. These chassis love to chew up power. But man they chew up the trail

No how do I check to see the AFR is? Also what should it be? Won't it be different at through out the entire rpm range?

I'm sorry but this adds nothing to the post.

I read the post title and thought to my self....are you effin kidding me?

You've got a 200hp+ rocket between your crotch and you're complaining about the MPG's? TFF!!!

I'm sorry guys....just had to say it. Mod's delete if you want.

i agree. i think its a good conversation going on about different conditions . but ya get over it or get martys 600 ace from mountain men if you want to drive to the revelations on a tank of fuel

I'm glad someone had the balls to say it! Plus i really believe it's going to be the same as every one i ride with, assuming they keep up...
