anyone add some wheels to outside rear of the rails about a foot or so from the rear wheels on a 05 venture? I have a wear spot in my hyfax in that region. all I see in the catalog are the small wheel kits. thanks

I asked the same question a while ago but never received any replies.

This is the only thing I could find but I haven't purchased anything yet and not sure if will?

Can't see the difference between the 2 machines being that much, but good luck with your replies.

The Venture is a 2-up Vector/RS Nytro. It has a CK style skid.

Furthermore, the marginal wheel kits are meant for all Yamaha skids. I have used the same mounting blocks & wheels on 3 different sleds so far. '06 RS Nytro(CK torsion), '08 FX Nytro(dual-shock), & now 2010 Vector LTX-GT (mono).

Yes, they do work. I've gotten 1,500-2,000+ miles on hyfax using these little wheels. Just make sure you keep them greased.

Instead of telling Irv he was no help to you..... :home:

Thanks Catman ;)!

Your installation of the kits, were they on 121" skids?

I purchased a kit for the front but never did see pics or info on installing one on the rear of a 121 skid?
I am/was still considering some type of scratcher instead, either ski mounted one or skid mounted one but I also purchased new Curve XS ski's and with the design them, they will shoot snow onto your rear skid as well.

Irv...... 2 121" (Nytros) & 1 136" (LTX-GT)

These have been on 3 sleds now. I removed them before I traded the old sleds off.

The '06 had 3,300 miles, the '08 had 1,600 & my Vector now has 1,300. So, in total over 6,000 miles on the same pair of wheels. Like I said before, keep the bearings greased & they will live a long time. ;)!

I put them on my 05 RS Venture and it made a world of difference in the wear, 3 seasons with the same hyfax/slides. I purchased the kit from my Yamaha dealer, it's in the catalog and took about 5 minutes to install.

wow great responses... sorry irv wasnt trying to snub you like cat man inferred. I was speaking of placement NOT style of rail. thanks but no thanks catman.

gcr3903 you mounted them on the outside rear?? any pics

They almost looks like what the factory did on the 06 RS Venture. It's a machined block that fits into the rail for a tight/offset fit. My sleds in storage up-north, so no pics, sorry. If I remember correctly, the kit comes with exact measurements from the end of the rail to the C/L of the mounting hole to be drilled. As I said, 5 minutes and your done. Maybe 10 if there's a beer involved. Now that I think about it, I did measure the 06 sled to get a happy medium. Either way it works great. Good Luck! ;)!

nice ideas and thoughts moose... good reading and I will consider.

I've had them on my 05 vector since new... Changed the bearings this year.. 7,0000 miles now on them and they still look verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry good.. O now have 4,500 miles on this set of fax.. MM

Sorry getting late.. Waaaaaaaaay to many typo's..... That's 7,000 miles.MM.

nice review max... seems like this is the way to go
