- 2007 Phazer GT
Since I have not had to change my ball joints or u-joints since I bought my Phazer in 2007. I think its time to do them.
There is a lot of slop in the spindle right now.
Can someone re-attach the instructions with pics as to how to remove the front subsection of frame, basically just the nose and skiis and nothing else?
How do you get the lower ball joint/spherical bearing out of the lower A-arm? Must it be pressed out?
How difficult is it to get to this washer and plastic bushing everybody been talking about in the steering system?
Any info and pics much appreciated.
Bushings on either side of the ski bolt are rusted on, tried penetrant and heat and a big hammer and zippo, got cut them off. The bushings are still there though so no ovalling yet, servicing this part would be easier with the subsection off.
Lastly, how do you change the chaincase oil? Looks like the brake and so other crap gotta come out first.

The steering bushing kit is easy to do with the front end off.
For the ball joints, they are held in by a snap ring (replace with a new one). You should be able to get it out with a few taps of a hammer once the snap ring is out.
To change the oil in the chaincase just take the lower plastic off and drain and re fill. If you wanted to look inside the chaincase you would have to take the brakes off to take the cover off.
