Totally agree. I just got off the phone with Donahue Super Sports and expressed my concerns about the seat foam on RTX. He said Yamaha told him that the RTX will definetely have firmer seat foam the GT and ER. This was very good news to me. Just thought Id pass it on...BBY

Unfortunately, the seat foam issue probably isn't even settled yet so we may not know for sure until the production sleds are delivered. :|greenmntpass said:That seat foam difference between the ER and RTX is killing me. Steve, Matt,
Greg, the one who did the presentation before our ride, told me that they are deciding all the seat issues (flap, foam etc) mid week.
He did say the RTX will have lighter foam.
If this means lighter as in weight, or lighter as in softer, I have no clue.
So this is being settled now and we would all be curious as to what they decided. He did say many of the Yamaha people read everthing here. A thread 'Yamaha, please give us the latest info' might work.
He also said, "Oh Tork, I have to be careful what I tell you" He was laughing. I hope he was not serious. He was kidding right?

What is the deal with the seat foam, The rear skid's will all be calabrated the same except the GT shock diff. I have not herd any thing about the foam being any different frome the people that i know at Yamaha. The proto's may have varyed but i would be surprised if the production sled's were not all the same. kviper

I can try on Monday but he has been on the road a lot through the release of the new sled's. Sooner or later i will catch him, Don't like to bother him on the cell. I will post if i find out somthing. I did ask him if there will be any difference in the rear skid cal and he said no except for the GT shock, I did not think to ask about the seat but i think he would have said if there was going to be a difference. They may have been trying some different foam masses on the proto's but may settel on one for production. We will see. kviper

MrSled i weigh aprox 235 and thought i was real close to the limit before needing the heavier spring but i thought it rode excelent in the stutter's with the RA on full soft. I was asked not to make any changes except for the RA. This was the first chance that i had to ride a Mono but was able to compare it to 2 M-10's and i thought it was every bit as plush as the M-10's were. I did not get in to any big stuff to use more dampening but any bigger than me and you will likley need the optional spring. What did you think of the clutch engagment and shift pattern. I thought the engagment was a bit harsh, Probably from the more agressive weight's and the WOT shift RPM started at 95,9,700 to about 10,400 at higher speed's. Maybe some of this smoothened out a bit after more miles. I think a good clutch kit will put a lot more on the table as usual even though it felt very strong. Did you have anything to compare it to. kviper

Funny you mentioned the harsh engagement, thats what snoweek said about the apex gt,plus the rear shock(olins) was to soft on large G bumps..kviper said:MrSled i weigh aprox 235 and thought i was real close to the limit before needing the heavier spring but i thought it rode excelent in the stutter's with the RA on full soft. Kviper, I thought the normal trail stutters and moguled corners it worked really well and I did adjust the cam on the spring to #7 but it did bottom on the rollers and was really harsh in the big mogul ungroomed trails. I am 260 with all my gear and feel the heavier spring or the 2nd sir clip will have to be used. It was plush...., almost to plush for me. The sled did come in harsh on the clutching but to me it was no worse then my 05.
Snowbeast - what did they say about the motor, accelaration, speed, etc...
Thanks
Thanks

what i have seen with the clutching that i have done i usualy see a harsher engagment with more agressive weight's or more agressive profile. I am thinking that the new weight may be causing this but it will be hard to get the pull this sled need's and the smoothness of the Vector. Either way in my opinion it is not much of an issue. I did not ride a GT so i can't comment on that. Any issue's the Apex's have are not even relevant when you look at the whole package and compare to what the other MFG's are offering. It is a matter of how perfict can you have it. As far as one person's opinion go's. There are a lot of personal preferances in snownobiling and i will stick with the other 99.9% that are in a state of WOW over these sled's. Also my 03 RX had a much harsher engagment than my Vector and was likley close to the Apex. kviper
