Looking to order a 2015 model. Been hearing alot on how stiff LTX SE is and also not a big fan of the Fox Floats. Anyone have knowledge on the new LTX DX version.
I mostly trail ride and found the HPG coil over shocks provide a better ride. Like the length of LTX for bridging bumps but want a soft ride.

I would assume the ltx dx is similar to the 14' base viper ltx. Same goes for the viper rtx dx and 14' base viper

And Is the 2014 base LTX riding softer than the SE? ihave not heard alot of comparisons between them. Im pretty shocked at how firm everyone says the SE is. Thats a big reason for selling my Nytro, rear suspension was a pogo stick.

From what I have read the base ltx and base shorty 2014s are a softer ride than the se versions. I think for 15' the base versions are called DXs. Alphabet soup crap all over again like the old vmax xt, xtc, xtc dx confusion

A friend of mine has a base ltx. Compared to my se the rear suspension is noticeably softer but now since I've added softer torsion springs so mine, the rear suspension on both feels the same. The front floats on the se models are the biggest thing hindering this chassis from really reaching it's full potential. I'm having a set of coil over shocks setup to my weight with dual rate springs and I know that's going to totally change how the sled handles and rides just from the comparisons I've made between the base model and se model ltx.

Good to know, the only bummer is the LTX-DX is only offered in black, however a inexpensive wrap could have sled looking more like sled #5 in the link below which is pretty sharp.

I'm getting fox zero pro shocks with dual rate springs and valving setup to my weight and riding style and prolly going to be able to sell my floats and come out even. That is an option. Personally the color of the sled was the main thing for me. You can always make a sled ride better. Can't really change the color scheme that easily and it would cost alot

What's wrong with the floats?

The floats are very firm, they can be adjusted but also are subject to changes in temperature affecting the accuracy of each shock. If one fails, you are done - flat tire syndrome.
I personally just felt the HPG coil over shocks provided a better ride and don't like how you have to tinker with the Fox air shocks.

They fluctuate a lot throughout the day, they don't hold a steady air pressure, they can only be set for one type of riding, they continually need to be pumped up from day to day. These are my experiences. Can't wait to get the floats off. The only plus side to them is are light weight which to me means nothing

Specs for the LTX-DX do not indicate that the rear is rebuildable. Fronts say rebuildable.

Unless you have a pet elephant trained to jump off houses do not get the ltx se version unless you want it stiff. And when I say stiff I mean so freakin stiff you can't adjust it to make it soft enough to ever bottom out. No Idea who set the calving specs but must have been dumbo

Put Nitrogen in the Floats and the pressure will not change day to day, stays the same in all temps.
