I ran one all this season. Easy to install, just take the console off and cut it out, sand the rough edges and rivet the vent on. Mo Flow sends a paper template to help with the cut out and provides the rivets.
After running it all season I notived a few things:
-when the sled is idling the rad can draw on cold air when the fan kicks on. The sled can idle twice as long now than before without the vent, before the heat light comes on.
-i beilieve that by having that vent it lets more air flow into the vents beside the headlight, again giving the rad a better chance for cold air while riding.
-when the sled is off it allows the heat to escape and doesnt keep it bottled up.
- when there is moisture inside the hood (snow build up), and steam is created it gives it a chance to vent out and not keep that condensation inside.
As for the instrument display. When the you shut it off, yes some condesation forms on the outside of the screen, but its gone after a minute or two. Once you start riding, its gone right away. not a big deal.
Hope that helps.
