Brian, I understand we may (through Jonny) get to meet tomorrow and ride?
With this much powder and all the changes we've made to our sleds we need to find some open powder areas to see how things work.

brianidaho said:I want to offer a public thank you to Jonny. He swapped out his 162 Maverick for a CE and sold me the Mav. I finished the install over the weekend, much happier with the fit-the track actually has some slack in it now! The install was pretty simple once I figured the steps out.
I got out for a short ride today, I see what all you guys are saying about the M7's The spring rate is much softer than the '03 RX-1, the suspension actually compresses now! And it climbs up and planes so much better than with the old setup. Like everyone else I'll have some playing to do to get things dialed in, but I'm happy for now.

No problemo. I am glad everything went well. Can't wait to go riding. Then you will really see how well the set up works. Are you still open for tomorrow? Give me a call tonight so we can work out the details.

Frosty, I just got off the phone with Jonny, we're a go for Trestle Creek if that sounds good to you. I'm looking forward to meeting you and putting a face to the "Frosty". I just hope I don't hold you guys up too much.

more help needed...
So I bought a converted sled with a 162x16 track. Has the older m7 153 rails and it's awesome. Except something is not setup right...I think. Last trip out I broke one of the rear suspension rods and ripped a shock off the rear arm. Fortunately I have a spare shock but don't want this to happen again. I have not measured the mounting to see if it is the magical 31-1/4 but here is my questions.
1. What happens if it is not 31-3/4"?
2. What is the upper limiter of the rear suspension...the shock?
3. Does the rear need to be mounted to the drop brackets with the springs unhooked?
The other issue is the shock shaft is really close if not touching the rear arm tube. I am fairly sure the bottom mount is in the "up" position. 4. What else could this be? Thanks!!!

I figured it out. It actually can't be more than 31-1/4...on mine at least. Beyond that and the shock/rods become the upper limiter. Hence the shock rod breakage. Even though the site is dead right now I am sure glad the info was out there!

Has anyone gone to stiffer springs ? My 05 M7 skid is way to soft for 220 lbs of pile driving a$$.

Stiffer springs
I am having the same issue and have seen some other posts on this. I haven't fixed it yet, but have heard of two ways to fix it. Freelheeler on here found some blocks which essentially increase the pre-load. Also I'd read about being able to get stiffer springs (thicker wire) from AC. I called the local dealer, and he acted like he had quite a few different options for getting stiffer springs, but it'd help if I took in to him what I currently had. Haven't taken the time to do that yet, but is definitely one of the things I need to do yet.
