MAGNAFLOW UNDER TUNNEL EXHAUST ON VECTOR-2006

I got interested into doing a under tunnel exhaust after researching all the post on ty.
Most were done on nytro's, none on vectors which i have. I am not big on excessive
annoying exhaust, most aftermarket seem to be to noisy. Reviewed most post and sound clips
and was not sure i would be happy with aftermarket makes.SDR is exception to aftermarket annoying
noisy exhaust.

If you use studs this might not work for you.

So if you own a vector here is what i did to mine. After months of research on
auto mufflers and nytro's redo's and stock muffler gutting, which is cheapest way to go but
the top end lost mph. "my goal was to make it look stock." I did not want exhaust dumps in
front of the snow flap.
1 First make a rear exhaust template out of plywood. Mark stock exhaust ports on the
template it's about 1", use a hole saw to locate the center. Make partial hole cut
just leave a center mark. this is used to locate the new exhaust.
2. Muffler is magnaflow #11148 muffler all stainless steel, 2 1/4" inlet 2-2" outlets ($110)(most auto
Supply)
3. 2-HP heat shields #120614 1800 degree one top of muffler
one under the seat. (($56ea.) order ss clamp (tpxpowersourse.com)
4. Front inlet needs to be change to 13/4" outside, 15/8" inside, this makes for very tight fit on existing
exhaust pipe.(for stock exhaust pipe)
5. Do not use exhaust clamp but a ss.wrap clamp so the muffler can be removed easily.
6. Take the sled to exhaust shop to make rear exhaust pipes 13/4" os and muffler brackets ($100.)
Take all parts and pieces with you so they can make a perfect fit. Rear exhaust cover is reused. You might
want to stay to help with parts and pieces install.
7. I removed my tunnel protectors to save on ice build up.
Leave rear tunnel protectors just in front of new muffler for tunnel close off plate.
8. I lowered my tunnel brackets 3/4". this is easy after trial and error. After removal
remount the bracket top rivet holes to second pop rivet holes. This is 3/4" lower. Trace the bracket
before removal on inside of tunnel to check aliment. Re-drill rivet and two mounting bracket holes
13/32 drill bit.

Pictures will make most item clear.
The sound is deep & mellow, prefect for trail riding.
Stock muffler assembly weighted 22lbs+/- new 15lbs +/- MINNIUM ICE BUILD UP 40LBS+/_

One added feature which i will do next year is install excell exhaust pipe ($400)

With added ulmer clutch kit and exhaust, my buddies 600 rush will be first chair behind this bad boy.

This is not a hard project, getting all the parts around for first time was hard part. Heat shields are a

must, i don't know if you need two, but for $56.00 it is good insurance.

You can order the muffler with 13/4 tips from magnaflow for extra cost. That would save on build end. $20.00 to change tip at exhaust shop.
