Hello all. New to yamahas but not new to snowmobiling. Just had a baby and he's sleeping now so why not get on the computer and talk about snowmobiles!! I was thinking about making my own dual carbides. I have a brand new pair of 6" carbides left from my old arctic cat. I was planning on cutting all of the mounting studs off of them and mig welding them to a pair of runners that will bolt up to my Rx warrior. I talked to a Ski Dud guy who said this worked well to eliminate darting. Have any of you guys tried this?
If you got everything to do it and trust your welding skills do it . I personally never tryed it mainly because I don't trust my skills on something like that . Anything to save money nowadays good luck . Welcome to the site

Thanks guys. I think I'll try it and see how it works.
I wouldn't waste the time. If you can do that you. Can make artless plates. They stop darting and work in a corner.

I have an 03 and 05 rx1 both had major darting issues, mostly the 03. I went to 4" woody shaper bars, kinda pricey but well worth it. I also used informationfrom people on this site to adjust the suspension. I let the limiter straps nearly all the way out, backed off on the preload on the A-arms in the front until the A-arms were parallel to the ground if not even lower. I also adjusted the preload up just a touch on the rear spring and increased transfer using the transfer rods. I went from being afraid of every corner to holding the throttle all the way down in every corner. It made a world of difference. I'm not sure if your having these issues but I thought I'd tell you about my experience which has worked on both sleds. Different suspensions but still the same theory. Godd luck!
