Installed where I was seeing the most wear. Install simple enough (don't like that the brackets on the top couldn't just line up with existing rail holes but instead required new ones but I digress.
What I'm concerned with, is that these new wheels seem very low relative to the existing wheels. I realize that this is the point but it seems a bit much.
First, with a straight edge between the front wheel and the new wheel, note the space between the straight edge and the back wheel:
Second, with the same straight edge bent around the new wheel and placed on the existing wheels, look how low this new wheel will be:
This just doesn't look right to me. Seems too low. Will this cause problems with the track? With that much space between the track and the hyfax, would it be possible with any force perpendicular to the travel direction for track clips to get derailed so to speak?
Another question for you all. I have a set of new hyfax in the corner and I'm debating installing them before putting this back in. I know however that this set, at least if it is like the last I had in, are good for another 1000 km. Right around that wheel is the worst, they are still brand new around the rail bends. Would you replace these?

I agree with you that those wheels are mounted too low. You'd most likely crack the rails where they are mounted. My understanding was that these wheels were designed to be installed at the front of the suspension at the curve in the rail.
I'm looking into installing a pair of idlers on my Nytro in the same area as you, but I think I'm going to use a set of Skidoo idler supports here: CLICK I did it sucessfully on my Vector a couple of years ago. They are mounted using 2 bolts, which is stronger, and you can use the stock sized idler wheel.

those look way too low,
I put mine on at the furthest point on the front of the rail
they seemed to line up no problem

Anyone got pictures? How far forward?
I just assumed you could put these where you like. The directions suggested nothing in particular as to placement so I put them where I had the most wear. Near the curve is almost pointless for me since I have almost 0 wear at that part of the hyfax. I might have to play around with these a bit to get them higher somehow where I have them.

If it had pivoting spring pressure like belt tensioner, maybe.

I think the wheel should be fairly level to the bottom of slide. It can be below some. I have experimented with this with tiny wheels and just wan't happy how they fit. I ended up going with a larger wheel where you have your small one situated now. It will cost more but I think a larger wheel is better.

I think you have the Block upside down. I put them on my sled and they aren't that low I have them upfront just before the bend in the rail.

If I flip the block the difference is just as big in the opposite direction. I'll take another picture later with them in that configuration.

I'd flip them around and find a larger wheel to fit then. Those smaller wheels won't last.

I would need a wheel with a diameter of about 3.75". I've gone through every parts catalog I can find without any luck finding such a creature.
This part is really starting to piss me off. $86.95 + tax for a OEM part that doesn't even come close to fitting.
Here is a picture with this block flipped:

As you can see, it barely clears the already well warn hyfax. If I put on new hyfax, this will be useless.
Here is a picture of the block itself. If the flare is put in on the hyfax side, the wheel sticks down too much. If the flare is pointed up, the wheel is pointless as a new set of hyfax will be well over it. It's almost as if the hole to mount the wheel to the block is in the wrong place or the slot to fit over the rail is cut in the wrong spot. The mounting holes for this block did not match up with any existing holes in the rails. The instructions required drilling to mount it.

It was suggested to move this up front to the bend in the rails. While I don't need this there, I tried it. You can't even get this to sit on the rails properly. The curve on the rail prevents it from sitting in the groove on the block above. If I put it back far enough to get it to sit flush, I believe it is at risk of getting owned by the torsion spring. No thanks.
Has anyone else mounted the same kit as shown above? Where did you put it and what modifications did you have to do to make it fit?
Are you guys sure having this stick down like in the pictures at the top of this thread would be an issue? It seems to me the point of this would be to have it a bit lower since the existing wheels are slightly too small for purposes of helping the hyfax? Wouldn't have this sticking lower reduce drag on the hyfax between the mid and rear wheels?
I might just return this and go in with NLVMAX's parts list and be done with it. Luckily I still have the original packaging.

I mounted the kit towards the bend in the front of the suspension last year without any issues to date. I didn't look into how it was aligned with the hyfax or other wheels like you have done though.
