Just a Quick note! Take a sharp punch and put a hole in the center of the filter, this will allow most of the oil to drain back let it sit for a few minutes and then remove. I have done this on many aplications before with great success. I can not say if it work in this application. Please let me know impalapower

I've never looked but what is the sequence that the oil flows from the sump. If the filter drains most of its oil after the engine has been off for a while is the engine or the oil pump being starved for a brief moment at startup? On most automobiles after the oil goes though the filter it goes to the upper parts of the engine. So if you don't fill the filter with oil prior to installing it on a filter change, it will be that much longer the upper runs dry until the filter is filled.

I doubt that it would actually drain out of the filter at all... #1 - vacuum will hold the oil in the filter. #2 - the initial oil filter location is below oil level.

Although, it will probably be a mess to pull out. Lots of paper towels needed. I'll keep my filter where it is.

Well, I personally wouldn't be satisfied with a relocation kit that STILL requires that the airbox be removed. It should be moved to someplace SMART, like RH side right beside the oil tank.

You're right Lazy, it should be easy to get to, and the filter should be upright so there will be less oil mess. I won't be purchasing this kit.
