Am looking at a used mbrp muffler for my 09 xtx nytro...but seller isn't sure if it's the race or trail. It's long and narrow vs the other mbrp can which is much shorter and girthier. P/N's on the mbrp site don't say which is which..only that the lon narrow pipe has a "T" in the P/N...any suggestions?

I have a trail MBRP which has the bigger diameter. The long skinny one is the Race version.

I had the race version on my 09 nytro, sounded good, not excessive.... if you are wondering on noise level

Laugh....I read that ad this morning while searching on Kijiji. I love ads like that!

onlyblue....thanks for the reply. So hard to tell from just watching vids...and everybody has varying opinions on db levels. I think for me, the Race will be a little too "barky" on the trails. Speaking of bark, I had a buddy give me a Barkers slip on a few yrs ago. Put it on, went around my back field a few times, came back in and yanked it off..ouch!

Think I'll keep searching for either the Trail can or maybe the Ultra Q. I hear good things about them too.

Merry Christmas everyone.

LOL..I guess ROOSTER answered that question....

Rooster nailed it. That ad on kijiji sums it up. Very funny, and well written. Lol
My friend had the race version, it is loud. I think the trail is acceptable.

Hey guys glad you liked my ad. And honestly the can is very annoying from idle to full throttle . Friends could hear me comming from miles away.
Let's just say it didn't last to long.
It's supposed to be a "standard" can. To me I'd think it was full on race.

Still have it. Mite accually make a wall mount for it. Buff it up and hang on wall for conversation.

That's all MBRP is good for .

^^ Yup.
Awesomely written, to the point + Daddy won't buy it for his kid is why you still have it LOL :)

Had an MBRP on my Phazer when I bought it, cool for about the first few hundo miles then it became apparent it was always gonna be louder than the music in my helmet, friends behind me bitched & was only making noise instead of a real power gain.
Went back to stock before a New York LEO's nabbed me, sold it on Ebay for $88- became Pennsylvania's problem...

Haha thanks for sharing, I just bought the exhaust from the add you shared

After a lot of research I just installed the MBRP trail can on my 2012xtx.
It was between the skins ultra Q and the MBRP trail can. Just wanted something with a little more bark, but not crazy loud.
Price difference helped influence my choice to the MBRP.
Unfortunately no Snow here yet to really try it.
It does sound a little more throaty at idle and I went for a rip around the house a few times and it does not sound too obnoxiously loud.
Planning a trip to NB this weekend so we will see how it goes.

What does your trail can look like? More like a square muffler or a round cylinder type?
If you do t mind me asking
