Hello all! back again have been away the summer which seems most of us were. looking to get the phazer geared up for the up coming season. I'm looking for some info on a MBRP exhaust which is from Royal Distributing which I assume is a slip on! Getting it for Christmas so won't see it for another little while but I want to know what is involved in installing one of these. Any Videos of comparison from stock? I have seen a few but with some videos its hard to tell the difference. Thanks for the help guys! Hope everyone is geared up or getting geared up for the up coming season.
Come on with that snow!:letsnow::sled1:

there are no "slip on" systems per say, all require cutting the factory pipe somewhere.

MBRP loud as hell. Not as loud as Aaen w/o quiet core, but lllooouuuuddd

If I had to do it all over again I would go with Hindle full system or even a quieter muffler like the Schmidt single pipe

The Skinz Ultra Q (aka Yamaha GYRT) is also a "slip on" but it requires cutting the pipe. That's really the hardest part.

The Ultra Q isn't crazy loud but you do get looks from the extra noise. They are a lot lighter.

I know you had to cut the stock pipe off but how do you go about doing it the easiest way? How will I know where to cut? Does the new pipe need to be welded on? I thought these where a slip on after cutting off you're stock one. Mbrp is the choice I'm going with for sure it seems what I'm looking for and at a great price compared to other brands.

The Skinz one comes with a template to show where to cut but you could probably just eyeball it too.

I marked the pipe with a sharpie and then used a hacksaw. I though about using some kind of power tool but it was awkward to get anything in there. Then it just slips over and a muffler clamp holds it on, no welding required.

MBRP came on mine, real loud & ditched it on Ebay for $125 2 weeks after getting the sled- went to stock making some back pressure.

Work backwards- mount the noise maker first then see where you'll need to cut the pipe & add clamps

yep, one of the quieter options but with 6000+ miles on my Skinz its starting to get louder, I'm looking to go Hindle now, just wish I could actually hear one in person first. Last year I checked mine with a certified sound meter and it just BARELY passed the 88db @ 10ft. standard that Minnesota and Michigan use.

Dont forget the Excell. Always wanted to get one myself. Ones I heard seemed quiet and great tone. I dont think Excell offers it anymore though.

Got the Mbrp earlier the week in the mail and installed it Friday and so far I love it! haven't got to open it up yet just idling and small cracks but so far impressed!
