While riding on hardback today all of a sudden the sled got very loud. I looked back and saw the muffler outlet pipe bouncing down the trail.

Has anyone else had this failure?

Is MBRP still warranting these?

I ended up riding without the side panel about 10 miles to get to a friends place to make a temp fix with bailing wire to hold it in for the rest of the day.

This is the first generation I believe, purchased in 2014.

Yes they will cover it. Mine did the same thing at the end of the season last year. I took it in this fall and no questions. The new one is way better.

Here's the MacGyver fix for the exhaust yesterday to hold the outlet tube up into the muffler body. Drilled 2 holes in the bottom of the outlet tube to run the bailing wire through, then looped the wire up around the upper bracket at twisted to get it tight. This kept most of the exhaust gasses going outside the bodywork.

I've emailed MBRP, hoping for a call back shortly...

The damage, also showing the tube is not bent so it's not as if i hit something...

Mine was replaced under warranty. I was less than thrilled with the sound so I sold it at a discount price and went with the Ulmer Straightline unit and have been very happy with it so far. Much better design and build.
