Looking for help from you beautiful animals.

Ok stock is low but you don’t need much engagement with the 35 helix angle

Here’s a thought, if you get the QAY-70’s you can always grind a little weight off where you need too, if you get a tune in the future weld it back on.
More of my old weights have weld on them than ones that don’t, won’t hurt anything.

LOL. Most of us old-timers chuckle about this but that's how it was done back in the good ole days before the days of $300 weight sets. Glad this art is still around! I still do it all the time.

IKR
I have been kicking around the idea of some welded up 8bu-00’s in my 4 arm for some time!

I know less then nothing about shock springs so I have to ask why the 2704-229 is a good spring for me
Because most guys at 250lbs are on 2 or even 3 on the torsions and cranked up the stock 135# spring so far it bags out. Being coupled sled the center spring will help the rear and vice versa so you could see if the center spring is all you need but I think after you break in the suspension you are going to also want the heavier Torsions.

Here is the latest chart I have from Cat. 2019
137" Sidewinder Torsions= 2704-026,027
SRX Torsions=3704-380,381
Recommended for 300# Rider=1704-576,577
*Note the coil springs on this sheet are for rear shock on 141" and up

I’m 300-320 with a 17 ltx le. I run 160lb stingray in the center and one rear spring on 2 and one on 3, and I ride the piss out of that thing and it rides great.

The Dalton teal will get you the Highest engagement of the Dalton springs.
If your plan is a tune later on the QAY-70’s will be ok with most stock muffler tunes.
Some guys have been able to run the 70’s on stock tune but they will be close to empty.
I have the dalton teal and its a 3600 rpm engagement coupled with dalton weights and stock rollers.

Thats good advice. But he asked. Winder_506 why do you think you will need to set the springs all the way stiff? Is it sitting on the blocks already?

I’m just going off how I always had to have my apex set. On full stiff on the rear springs, if not it bottomed our way to much and I could never get much transfer being set on #3 all the time. I want to be able to have the rear softer and have the option to stiffen the springs. If that makes sense.

This sled is the first one I could ride “out of the box”. Always in the past I would need springs and or revalue shocks. I think you’ll be surprised how it handles the weight

Turn upside down and please don’t use arctic cat springs on a Yamaha because it’s not a cat.

How is the transfer in the skid with the back turned up on 2/3 ? Does it come out of the hole good and hook ?
