Started to do an oil and chain oil change on my 16 XTX today for the first time. Not done, just going to continue tomorrow as it took time to get the skid plate and other stuff removed. Anyways, had to pull the muffler and ugh, seems so unnecessarily big. Called a place near me and they have a new trail can for 300 bucks CAD. Was thinking of picking it up to save some weight more importantly space for next time I'm working on the sled.
Those that have had the mbrp trail can (the new all chrome one) for a while now, what's everyone thoughts? Happy with it overall or if you could do it over again would you not bother? 300 seems a little steep to me so trying to justify spending the dough. Let me know what you think.
Thanks/

I would like to be able to adjust the chain without removing too but hate louder exhaust. It’s a big cause of trail complaints. Not all people agree with that but it’s true. I figure I’m usually servicing the chain case any way and would need to remove what ever exhaust was there.

Plus if you get checked in Ontario and the can is not stock they will probably fine you

My original mbrp cracked. I put the straightline on and found it to be night and day better.

MBRP has a new Quiet line now as well. I haven't had a chance to hear them yet on anything. I'm not sure they have it for the Viper but they do for the Poo and Doo 850's. Weight savings but only 1 HP gain.

I've seen other model MBRP cans crack as well. Would not trust them at all.

I've got one on my 2014 Viper and I noticed that the bottom of it is slightly bulged. I think this happened when it had severe backfiring problems. I've since had the latest flash done and it hasn't got any worse as the backfiring problem has been resolved. I wonder if cracking to others mufflers has been as a result of backfiring or if it's just from normal heating and cooling of the exhaust.I've seen other model MBRP cans crack as well. Would not trust them at all.

I had a MBRP trail can on my 14 Viper LTX and got 6,500 happy miles on it.Sold sled and it went with it.The tone was a nice grumble at idle and only slightly louder than stock in normal trail riding. My sled never backfired because I had the evo flash on it. I also ran an ULMER header on the sled.I was very happy with that combo.

I have also have tried two different aftermarket trail mufflers and have to agree with Yamajon1. Around here it is not worth the loud noise complains. And on a long day of riding I was better off listening to the stock exhaust as it was easier on my ears ( boy I getting old ! ).
