Looking for some input on root cause. 2014 Viper with MPI trail kit. 5500 miles on sled and ~3700 flawless miles on turbo. Went out with wife, unloaded sleds off trailer let it warm to 192 degrees and took off down the trail. Got stuck behind a group going 40 mph for the 1st mile and a half. I punched it a couple times in short bursts and hit rev limiter which I thought was weird but I was on a paved trail system so I thought it was track spin. Slow pokes stopped at a stop sign and let me go around them, I hammered it and poof! Sneezed the valve cover gasket and blew oil everywhere.

I tore it down the other night and found the blue hose to the wastegate was off the actuator and holes melted in all 3 pistons. Wastegate actuator was full of oil, hard to tell which came first, the chicken or the egg. Did the hose come off causing loss of boost control? Or did the burndown throw oil into turbo and pressurized crankcase the actuator hose blowing it off? Anyone ever seen a similar issue? I haven’t ~3500 trouble free miles on this setup and lost my motor within 2 miles of the trailer.

I’m in the market for a 1049 motor in Michigan.
