A request to run Trail 4 along a short stretch of Mancelona Road right of way was approved this morning by the Otsego County Road Commission. This is a very important link in our trail system; we appreciate the efforts of all those involved.
11/30/2010 UPDATE: Early today the GASTC learned today that the DNRE must still approve the re-route.
After final approval, details on the re-route will be posted here, as well as information about how to help with the signing and brushing.

I was notified Monday that it was happening, just have been too friggin busy to post it! lol
Yes, This is approved by the county with the stipulation of responsible usage.
Make SURE you DIM YOUR LIGHTS TO ON-COMING TRAFFIC!
Especially for vehicles on the road!!!
This was (and is) a major concern of the county, after riders failed to dim their lights last year & it generated quite a few safety complaint calls to the county.
It was also suggested by many that riders be ticketed for failure to dim.
Be aware that you have been warned prior.
If the trail is abused by failure to dim, or any like reason, the county has the right (& a responsibility for safety reasons) to close it at anytime.
There are other stipulations, but the main concern WE have control over is responsible courtesy.
We be responsible & the trail should work out well!
Hopefully will be even better routed next year!

This is an important section of trail. I think it takes you one of the best snow areas in the Norther Lower. I'm super happy they worked it out.
