Nytro XTX turbo: With the mid mount turbo being so close to the plugs, what is everyone doing to ensure that the plastic/rubber plugs will not melt? I have wraped these in heat reflector tape but wondering if there is other methods to protect these plugs.

Thanks,

Kevin

Allen ( ulmer ) ...would this fit and be benefical to your kit(s)?

The only time I have seen any heat related issues is if the header bolts come loose. We are going to include a header/turbo/down pipe blanket on our kits for 2010. This will be piece of mind mostly as the first question I receive is about "heat" usually. This will retain all the heat in the header/turbo/down pipe where it is needed and actually help with performance some as well. I will post more details in the next couple of weeks.

nice allen! any way to retrofit to my kit?

It will work on any of our kits from last season or any of the NW Turbo kits that are running the cast header & manifold. It is a direct slip on.

yeah I had bolt issues, and my kit was a first generation NW turbo kit...

Subsequently I have added Stage 8 bolts, and the turbo blanket, and some other things, and have had NOTHING but a great year riding, and fun kit!!!

VERY reliable, but IMHO, any mid mount, would not ride without the heat blanket (especiialy spring)

but I am being OVERLY cautious too, several friends with same kit, have never had an issue at all...
