mid oem windshield

i am looking to replace my stock attak windshield with the yamaha mid windshield.
i understand this is a little higher across the total width of windshield (and still looks good too !)

i assume this makes things a little warmer on the hands,
just wondering if this helps deflect more wind from chest & helemet ?

any of you guys tried it ?

I have one coming. I hope it is at least as good as stock. I tried a tall with the stupid rods and broke it as soon as I closed the cover on my trailer. Just as well. It looked awful! I have the mid. tint to black with strobes coming.

I have one on my attak. I'm 6'0 when sitting the wind hits me just above the shield on my helmet. Verry little on the hands as long as I don't hang on the tips of my handle bars. A BIG improvement over stock and like you said, looks good too.

Yes, mid-height is far better than a stock Attak windscreen. I have put them on all my Attaks. The stock shield is worthless for trailriding.

are you guys talking about the the low windsheild that came in 2006 or the standard windsheid that came with the attaks in 07

Replacing the standard '07 Attak WS with a Yamaha mid height. Both are called "mid height" but the replacement has a different shape than the original. Maybe more wind protection and gets rid of the overdone (in my opinion) graphics.

That looks taller than either one to me. I am putting on SMA-8FT96-22-BK from Yamaha's website under "accessories".

I had mine replaced with the Med. Height Accessory one from Yamis book.

It blocks the wind except at the top of the sheild which is fine with me..

I like it.

Sma-8ft96-
The "-21" is clear w/black on the bottom.
The "-22" is tinted(smoke) w/black on the bottom.

and i have been told by my yamaha rep these are the mid "higher" ones.
the stock is a -20
