I am going to the yamaha dealer today, he is going to look at taking my 03 rev on a trade for an 07 vector er.

I briefly rode an 07 er, but that was two years ago. I also rode with a couple of 05 vectors, and if I remember correctly they hung right with my 600 HO across the lake (we weren't really racing, but I was putting the hammer down across the lakes), everytime I looked they were about a sled length behind me.

I was wondering how you guys who own vectors do against 600 sdi ski-doos.

And how good is the mono rear, i keep hearing I should get the 08 shock and spring upgrade, as the 08's and 09's ride better. I am about 215 lbs with my gear on. The yamaha dealer said I don't need the shock and spring update, he said it will ride just fine with out it. What do you guys think???

I have an 08 Vector LTX GT and I can tell you that a 600 HO SDI is not even close on the lake, for that matter an 06 800 Powertek Renegade is no match top end. It's not bragging if you can back it up!

Wow that is awesome, I had no idea the vectors were that fast...I thought it would be class competitive, but didn't think I could put a whippin on some doo's this winter...very cool. Hopefully the bank says yes monday...if they do, I'll be having a merry xmas.

I read that only the Apex GT's received valving updates last year. I don't think the Vector had any spring or valve changes from 2007.

Supertrax has commented that the pre-2008 Vectors get slightly better fuel economy than the 2008+ models.

You'll love the powerband of the Vector. It is a VERY quick sled. I haven't raced many sleds, but it is faster and quicker than a Firecat 600 and quicker to 100 than the 125hp Polaris 600cfi. Heck, it even accelerates harder than my old D&D 711 big bore Cat which was supposed to be pumping out 132hp.

Was the 600 SDI towing another sled behind it ?

I have an 04 Doo GSX with the 600 SDI and an 05 Vector ER. Out on the lake they are just about dead even. Whichever one has the heavier rider loses. The fuel mileage is almost the same with both. When you get to the rough trails you will badly miss your REV. The Vector motor is great.

No by'. I will have to get some video this winter.

I ride an 05 vec with the dual shock pro-act skid. I upgraded the rear shock to an Ohlins and the ride is now day and night. My understanding is the mono-skid is very nice if you're a groomed trail kind'a guy.
So if you like the rough trails, maybe not the skid for you. If you want dependability with power, the 120gen is hard to beat.

Ditto on the lake thing....my buds SDI (which he traded for an 08 XP with the 800 and that thing SMOKES my Vector) would typically get a few more MPG than my Vector but I'm losing a bit with my M10.

I LOVE the SDI motor!!!

Where are you in northern WI Heritage? What dealer are you talking to? PM me the details of you'd prefer.

If you do get it, I'd ride it first for about 300 miles then revalve if needed.

I know this is a Yami site but what about a 08 Rev on the XP chassis with the SDI motor?? The XP chassis ROCKS and the sled is 100 lbs lighter than the Vector.

Dealer low balled me on the trade, and the bank said no :(

Undecided, I am located just south of tomahawk, we have an excellent yamaha dealer here (Larry set-up my viper way back when...and it was a rocket). The sled I was looking at was further north ( I don't want to say which dealer, I'm kinda irritated at them right now)

So...I looked elsewhere, and couldn't find a yamaha I wanted...I can get a phazer gt for cheap...but it's exactly what I hate about my ski-doo (cold ride, with zero wind protection, and too rider forword)...and 15 mph slower on top. I actually found an 07 arctic cat crossfire 600..it has high miles, but is in really nice shape and is almost $2,000 dollars below blue book. The dealer there is going to give me what I want( need) for my ski-doo to trade it in. As Much as I like the 4 stroke Yamahas, I just can't find a deal on a 120 hp sled...there are virtually none on any of the dealers lots up here. I don't want to try and sell the rev outright, and buy something else. I just want it gone, if you know what I mean.

I guess we'll see what happens, but it looks like I'll be on a cat.

Please think really ,really hard about that. A high mileage Cat ?

Heritage,

Larry's about as good as they get. If you're talking about the Yam dealer 30 miles north, I completely understand.

Want to share something with you....check your PM's...message coming.

if you are going to buy new or close to it ,i would suggest the 08 or 09 .
the DB II chassis is a sweet home for the 120.
set the susp. to full transfer and you can line up against most trail sleds out there, even the big brother apex.
