Wondering if anyone has milled the dome area of the piston to lower compression? It appears on a nytro piston there is a great deal of beef in the dome? I am going to gas port the pistons anyways so I figure maybe a better way to lower compression than a head shim becuase it will allow the squish to stay stock.

Well I like the way you think. We have gas ported the Yamaha Nytro pistons effectively but never milled the domes. We have milled small block chevy pistons however so there is no reason why it cant work on Nytro as long as the dome is thick enough

When I was in school(Machining) I did a set of harley pistons for the teachers friend on the CNC. This is what made me think of it. I definately will measure up the pistons and see if there is enough "meat" there to mill a dish in them enough to make it worth while.
