Hi guys, I have two riding buddies that bought 08 vectors.. The problem is they can't seem to find mirrors for them...They've looked at the handguard styles. Body mounts, and the kind that hook on the ends of the handlebar ends. I think I heard somewhere on either this site or HCS that people have used ski-doo handlebar mounted mirrors.. Does this work good?? Thanks in advance. MM. :ORC

I put the powermadd handguards on with mirrors. Haven't ridden with them yet, but just sitting on the sled I can see great! The person that put them on did extend them a little farther out than stock though.

I just installed the powermadd handguards with mirrows last week on my 08 vector, they look good and have clear sight lines on both .

My dealer let me take a set of star series Powermadd hand guards, mirrors, and mounting brackets to try on my 08 Vector LTX GT. I havn't tryed to put them on yet, but I can't see how there going to fit as the bars come very close to the stock windshield as is, 1-1.5" from hitting when bars are turned all the way left or right. I don't see how there is enough room to fit the handgards on so they will clear the windshield. Are you guys using the stock windshield? Can somebody post a picture of there set-up or splain how they are installed?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've used the powermadd mirrors for the last two years on my Attak and found them to be useless at best. They are small and difficult to pick up even a headlight unless the sled is touching your snowflap.
Just my two cents.

Attack44,

I was thinking the PM mirrors might be a little on the small side, but was thinking of adding the PM guards W/O the mirrors for maybe a little wind protection or a different look. Then putting on the mirrors that bolt to the side panels.
I still can't see the PM hand guards not hitting the windshield when the bars are cranked hard left or right.
As stated in my 1st email the bars nearly hit the W/S as is.

Thanks for the reply.

have 07 Vector GT, I looked around and ended up just installing the basic round Kimpex universal mirrors . I installed them right in front of the handle bars where the windshield juts out on the cowl. Took me 10 minutes per side. In my experience all mirrors on sleds vibrate so much that all I need to see was any headlight behind me. I have got them positioned so I can view right under the hand grips even with gloves on.

My buddies ended up putting nytro style mirrors on... With the hand guards... MM.

Anyone using stock mirrors? Thats what I had on my 98 XTC. The worked nice on that sled. I just got a 06 Rage and do not know what to put on.

Just rode for two days with new yamaha mirrors on my 2006 vectors. They work well, no shake. Typical oem quality, very pleased!

My brother ended up putting chrome bicycle mirrors on his ATTAK, bought at a local hardware store. I have a RS Venture, and it's stock mirrors are perfect.

Which stock mirrors are you using? The standard v-max set or the newer taller RX/RS set ?

I have a 2007 RS Venture. The mirrors are fairly tall and work great. Once you have them adjusted to your liking, you won't have to adjust them again, unless someone walks into them, or you roll your sled, etc. The only thing I had to do was tighten them up after about 1000 miles, as the dealer didn't quite have them tightened/installed properly.

The mirrors shown in the attachment are in the Yamaha accessory catalog and listed for the Apex and Attack. Since the 08 Vector is the same as the Apex I am thinking these should fit. I am not sure where they mount, does anyone have them?

BRB... Thats what I put on mine. The kit comes with paper templates for mounting to each side that match your side panel profile. After mounting, (using the templates) I found that the mirror heads do not turn outward enough and you end up only being able to see the back of your own sled. I was able to elongate the holes in the side cover and turn the mounting base to be able to see behind me. So be aware and purposly drill the holes that are closest to your knees outward about a half an inch from where the template indicates.
