I just wanted to get everyones opinion on whether a Nytro could be made to ride and handle as well as a Viper. I am considering the Skinz A arms for the front and a revalve job for the skid or perhaps another skid (if there are any that perform well in an XTX). I like my Nytro and like modifying it to an extent but will I just be throwing money away. Would it be better just to pony up a little more for a Viper.

I am real interested to see the responses to your question. My thoughts are this based on all that I have read and owning a Nytro, out of the box the viper should be a way better riding sled. But with a few mods and a bit of time I think the nytro could be equal to the viper. But I have not ridden a Vioer or a Procross either.

You likely could mod a Nytro to work very well.
And since the resale value of the Nytro is going down faster than JB.
There are some picking up Nytro's for around 5g's many of them with spares galore.
Thrown in a few more G's and you got a very accomplished snowmobile.
Could all be done for under 10,000 but...
You'll always be fighting the fact that it's still a Nytro that has been dragged down and slagged by virtually every magazine as a dud for years.
The rear exit exhaust with no room for accessory is also a huge issue that takes work to solve.
I could go on, but I'm sure 1000's of Nytro owners have thought long and hard about it before they put down a deposit on their new Viper.

nytro vs viper
someone posted on here last night that they owned a new viper and wanted there nitro back. I haven't riden a viper yet but I will on the 10th. It would have to amaize me to want me to give up my turbo nitro with skins a-arms, hid headlights, wrp seat, lake effect rizer and so on.

Please post back with your opinion. You already have the Concept A- Arms and I can't wait for a comparison.
I haven't ridden a Viper either but I have taken a short ride on a XF 1100 n.a. snopro. So the same sled with less power. I thought the rear skid was awesome and loved the front suspension. Both were very plush and it cornered flatter. I think ( but don't know first hand ) that the Skinz A-Arms are going to straighten out any issues I have with the front. It's the skid I'm not sure can ever be that good. I know the Star kit has good reviews but so does Hygear. Really just don't know how much it can be improved.

Yes the Nytro can be modded to match the stock out of the box Viper. I got to ride my friends Viper on our 180mi day yesterday. The Viper settings need a few tweeks and a different ski. With the mods I have done to my Nytro the ride and handling is real close. I would say the Viper suspension is still better and I would still like a little higher seat on the Viper to match my WRP seat on my Nytro.

zbros ars fx front end is amazing the sled handles wicket in the corners and on the bumps shes is wicket its like she floats across them no bucking and jerking.
Right now i have the gytr shocks with a TR springs re-valved and a medium oil in them and a huge difference in her. No take into mind i got mine lengthened out to 159 as well too so that makes her better on the bumps as well.

I drove my Brother In Law's snopro 800 ltd a week ago and I was impressed with the suspension as well. After I got off the sled I got thinking that I should get something with that Chasis whether it be the Viper or Cat. (Not thinking about the extra hp in the 800 motor I drove).
I then sat down to what I liked and didn't like about it. First thing I noticed was that it either needed more aggressive carbides or different skis. Second thing I didn't like was my confidence in Cats stuff. ( This was my deciding point to keep my nytro)
So I then started planning next summers Mods (see signature for current mods) Like the OP, will putting a WRP seat and Star suspension Kit make the seating and suspension close to SnoPro Chasis?

I has a '09 RTX SE Nytro and for jumping big bumps, I liked the suspension better than my XTX SE Viper. I miss the agressivness feel of the Nytro. I also liked more the fit, finish and electronics, beside the non-effective handwarmers my Nytro had.
But, the Viper is more of a trail riding sled, more confortable, and even in 141, it corner way better than the Nytro, so If I think about the RTX, it should be awsome. Also Very powder capable. But with only 540km on it, it is not broke in, so performance wise, I can't tell anything.

What I liked more from my Nytro was also more room for my knee's, even if I am only 5'7".

Got the chance to ride the viper rtx and own a rtx se nitro 2010. Well at 6/4 the nitro fits me way better . I rode the viper for about 2 hours an waist and other parts where cold . The sled is ok but after installing my supercharger i'll stay with the nitro. I also run curve skis and hygear trail package . The 2 guys I rode with one a dealer the other a rep. they wanted to try my supercharger . I will say it is fun to just run buy other sled fun time .

Sitting position goes to viper, standing goes to nytro for me.

I have heard the nytro is the easiest yammie to work on. Not sure because this is the only 4 stroker I have owned My yammie mechanic says the vipers are a mess. Very difficult to get anything apart. Besides loving my nytro, thats enough for me.
