When looking under my 06 RTX this morning i noticed my mono shock cable that goes to the dial from the shock was frayed and broke apart is this under warrenty? I remember reading about this a while back. Is it just a 06 problem or does this still occur? The sled has 3000miles on it.

i replaced mine as i forgotto unbolt it from the tunnel and it pulld apart. didnt break the cable but my bud told me that i should buy a new one anyways.

I have an 06 attack and have had to replace mine twice, first time it was broken in half, second time the the shielding around the cable was streched so far that the ends did not stick out far enough. First time was under warranty the second time I paid for it myself.

Mine broke in half also, so it is under warranty? and also how hard is it to replace the cable?

It isn't to bad ,dont even have to take the suspension out. The hartest part was getting the boot in their right and getting the bushings in the plastic block to stay in when putting it back together,a little piece of paper in the hole will hold it in place long enough to get the bolt started.

they dont last long when there is alot of ice buildup....mine broke, and I couldnt be bothered getting a new one...since I ran mine set where i liked it always, dont need to change it...

good idea but poor design,as the ice buildup takes them out very easily...

LOL, I dropped my suspension a few weeks ago and forgot the cable..pulled it out. Easy enough to fix, though..it's just a speedo cable. I also put anti sieze inside, lubed up the boot good, and it works great. I also think I'll unbolt the block on the tunnel to remove the cable from that end in the future...pretty quick really. The whole thing is super simple once you look at it. I can see how a chunk of hard ice could take it out, but that's life I guess. You could always seal off the adjuster with a boot and manually adjust it with a square end tool (old speedo end) if you need it adjusted. I tend to leave mine in the same spot once dialed in.

a new assem cost me $38.20 i think it was. my cable never broke as it just pulled out. should havew just reused it. maybe i'll put it on ebay for $5.00 lol
