help intalling mono shock adjustment cable

need some help installing new cable for my mono shock adjustment. im not sure where the rubber boot goes. also how do i set it up so that the shock and the adjustment dial are matching.

Before I take my shock out, I turn the dial all the way in one direction. When you put it back in, the cable goes through the "rectangle" metal loop by the shock mount. The rubber boot has a groove in it that the loop sets in. Plug the cable in the dial and tighten it up.

I uses the old tore up cable to turn the adjuster in the shock all the way one way then turned the dial all the way in the same direction so they will match. Then install the new one.

And like stated above the boot goes into the loop.
