My dealer sent my rear shock in for a rebuild three months ago. It still is not complete, because the rebuild center is out of kits. I imagine a lot of guys are getting this done. I had 2,700 miles on my Attak, and the rear shock was fading. If anyone is thinking of getting this done in the fall, you may want to send it in now to avoid delay. Just a thought.

I got mine done a few weeks ago at Shock Therapy in Durand Mi. $50 included a re-valve. Call Bob he will hook you up with a sweet set-up.

Ultimate, Did Pat send it away to Ohlins? What are you getting done to it? 2007 specs? What's the rebuild center?ultimatewarrior said:My dealer sent my rear shock in for a rebuild three months ago. I am not sure as to the location of the rebuild center. Pat said that there are about four or five around the country that Yamaha uses. He sent it to one. I asked to have it revalved-built to 07 specs. Pat is checking on it.

I spoke with Ohlins after mine blew for the second time. They didn't have an answer why but they told me that if I send it to them they will rebuild it and cover it under warranty. I have a new one, but still plan on sending it out for a re-valve to match the big boy spring that I already installed. They claimed it would not create a stiffer ride. Yamaha warranty is replacement for the first year and after that it is a rebuild for the remainder of the extended warranty.

I spoke with Pat at Chippewa Motors. My shock finally came in. It was rebuilt to 07 specifications, including revalved. I moved to Wisconsin, and will not be able to pick up the sled from Chippewa Motors until the fall. It will be interesting to see whether there is a noticeable difference in performance. The best part is that because of the delay (4 months), the rebuild center waived all charges. I am not sure what center did this, but it certainly was a nice gesture.
