It looks like I will have to go to the heaver spring on the mono shock on my Attack. My question is. Can I remove the shock without taking the rear suspension out?

take the weight off the track, take the rear bolt from the control rod out, then the 2 bolts on the shock can be pulled out and shock comes right out, just did mine the other day to set c-clip to 2nd setting and it took me 15 min in and out and about 2 min with the yamaha spring compressor tool to move the c-clip

How did you get the rear bolt in the control rod loose?

Did you use an impact? Man that is tight. I have a ratchet with a pipe over it and it does not want to come loose!

i had the same problem , so i ended up pulling the two lower bolt on the front strap, then the shock bolts, and adjuster(set it too hard first) and the shock came out.

i turned the adjuster all the way to hard(i have an attak), underneath there is a boot, slide the boot away from the shock and there is a cable end, much like a speedo, just use pliers to loosen it and spin it out.

Do you have to compress the spring while in the sled so you can get the shock out?
No. Just hang the skid free and once you get the nouts off the shock bolts just have a buddy take the support out and then gently move the suspension up and down until you find the sweet spot. The bolts slide right out when you get it right.

You have to have a 2x4 under the front of the skid when doing this.......you need to ever so slightly remove the pressure from the limiter straps....

Its really and easy r&r....

I got it out...thanks for the help.

For anyone else that is trying....here is what worked for me.

The 14mm nut at the back of the transfer rod (where it attaches to the skid) needs an impact to get it to back off....jst go easy.

Where the RA cable mounts to the shock....pull the rubber boot away from the shock. There is a cable just like the ones we used to see behind the guage cluster that goes into the speedo. Just unscrew it with fingers (or pliers to get it started) mentioned above.

Take the nut off the 2 bolts that attach the shock to the skid.

Pull the front bolt out first....then the rear...and it is out.

Thanks guys
