shock
My mono shock was failing and causing me grief...I had 6000k on the sled...I had the shock out and a guy recraged the gas and drained and replaced the fluid...New sled feel...I now ride with the shock on the second snapring, cam adjusted to the second position, tunnel adjustment two past the middle setting towards hard...I am 220...Zero bottoming...I also loosened up my transfer rod to the max setting...Dream to ride now

Your setup is quoted below. Go to the Frequently asked questions thread under Apex General for a bunch of other great info.
I weigh 210 lbs and I found that I needed the 6.1 rate (my '06 GT came with a 4.9 from the factory) spring to establish the sit in described below. If you are going to double up you'll need to set it up for that ride. I'm thinking you'll need to take it easy on your 2-up ride. You probably won't be able to preload your stock spring to sit in specs for 2 people without risking a coil bind or lots of bottoming out.

kviper said:Lift the sled off the ground, Measure the spring length (spring only), Then set the sled on the ground and sit on it and have someone measure the spring again. You should have 40mm to 45mm of sit in. Caution!! do not preload the spring to less than 262mm or 10.3" when sled is off the ground as it will coil bind and cause dammage. If you are at 262mm and have more than 45mm of sit in you will likley need the optional spring.
Tip, To do this with one person i slid the wiper washer up to the shock body when lifted and then sat on the sled, Lifted it beck up and measured how far the washer was frome the shock body(this is your sit in). If the washer slides back to the shock body you can wipe a thin film of grease on the shock shaft to keep the washer frome moving after you raise it back up.

I am also thinking my shock needs a rebuild/recharge and revalve?
I am about 200-210 fully geared up and I currently have my shock spring on the max adjustement via the cam and on the fist clip(softest)
I cannot get the proper sag it seems, I am over the 45mm of sag required so at first I was thinking I needed to put my shock clip on the second setting but some peeps on here said for my weight I should be on the first clip and about 1/2 way up with the cam tensioner/adjuster?
My last ride out my bud said my rear suspension was hardly moving over the stutters/rough stuff and it did feel stiff/hard to me?
I dialed my side adjuster to full soft and it did make for better ride but I know my sag is not adjusted correctly.
I just rolled 2600 miles on my sled which seems odd that the shock needs a rebuild already, but that is the only thing I can come up with?

FYI this thread is regarding and Apex GT.
That means Ohlins ECS , not remote tunnel adjuster knob.

Apex GT's came with the Ohlins 4.7 kg/mm spring stock.
Attak GT's came with the 6.0 kg/mm spring stock.
Unless you are a very, very big guy, going to the 6.5 , 7.1 springs are many times not necessary for the Attak.
Yes, not having a big enough spring sucks and bottoming out wrecks your skid and is painful. But having too much spring also sucks because you have no cushion -- almost as bad as not having enough spring.
Your fine tuning comes with a the proper valving.
I weigh 195-ish (depending on how many twinkies I've been eating lately) ungeared. I figure 225-ish geared up. I like mine with the stock 6.0 spring.
But then i had bjowett valve mine stiff and add the progressive dampening system. Mine cannot bottom out...
Now the fact you ride double changes things. Not only more weight, but the weight is carried farther back on the seat, which adds even more downforce upon impacts/ suspension movements.
You may very well want the 6.5 spring or the 7.1 spring. My advice tho is to not overspring. You won't like that either. Go with the lightest spring you can get away with and valve hard is my advice. The PDS would also help you alot.

I am going to install the 7.6 kg spring on my 2006 APEX GT .. Without a lot of extra checking of sag what installed height should I use?
