Thought I would ask if anyone knows about a throttle that is more user friendly for smaller hands. My wife has a 2010 Vector and her biggest complaint is 'thumb' fatigue on a ride. Seeing her hand on the bars its no wonder, all this equimpent is made for someone with a bigger physique. This is a bit of limiting factor when dropping hints on going for longer rides or day trips.
Is there anyway to recalibrate the existing throttle so that it is closer to the bar? or is there a product on the market to assitst with this.
Surely this is not the first time the equipment doesnt fit the rider, what have others experienced and what have you done?
Anyone writing back suggesting I tell her to 'buck up' - I appreciate the wisdon, but already tried that, and for longevity sake am seeking a better, more long term solution. lol
Thanks

There are a couple of site sponsors that sell ATV type throttles like this:
http://sledtoyz.com/component/virtuemar ... egory_id=8
I have a secondary throttle (in picture) that allows you to switch positions back and forth but I think she would be better off with the ATV style

The thumb throttle is very nice in a long day, I'd never go back to the old throttle.
x2 nci atv style lever is great on long trips.Super Sled said:The thumb throttle is very nice in a long day, I'd never go back to the old throttle.
Although I would not like it, there is always a twist throttle, or you could add a lefty throttle, and switch back and forth. That may get confusing though. Just throwing out ideas
Iwas thinking, even the small sleds, and atv typically have 7/8 bar, so you could find a small machine that has a set up to your wifes liking, and switch that throttle set up over. Problem is you would have to reconfigure the thumb warmer, and anything else that is right there

The NCI " thumb drive" As its called comes with a thumb warmer built in. It's also fully adjustable for different size hands.

My old nemisis Throttle thumb! Not as bad now with way easier throttle pull. Long distances at a steady throttle (lakes railbeds) still cause problems sometimes but in the twisty trails your on and off the thottle all the time so no problem then.
I do however remember my 98 triple with round slide carbs. The thottle pull was insane! There is a thing out there that is a brace for your thumb. Can't remember what its called off hand, something like "thumb thing" It works pretty good.
ATV style would be the answer going by this forum.

I have used a thumb support in years past with good success when my thumb was not in shape for pulling three carbs. G.B.

Thumb throttle
Have you tried turning the throttle so she uses her lower thumb instead of the end of her thumb? Works for us.

you could get the leffty aftermarket throttle and have both so she could switch thumbs
Give the thumb drive a go it is ajustable it is great wouldn't go back to stock. and you can ajust it to be closer to the bar.

Rotate the thumb lever to different angles to see if it will help. Otherwise the thumb drive looks like a solution!
