At the risk on rehashing this topic, I need some help. I tried shimming, doolies, triple carbides with ski savers, and I still have darting.
I am ready to replace the skis but I have heard so many different stories I need to hear from someone that has done the swap. Of all the above the doolies stopped the darting but forget about trying to steer into a corner in heavy snow. They resist turning then breakway into oversteer.
It is beyond reason that Yamaha has let this problem go on so long. My 2003 Viper darted so bad that it was at times dangerous. Doolies did cure it but at the expense of other traits. I was riding over the weekend and the darting was so bad it was almost impossible to keep on the trail at 45 mph. On the throttle it was better ( skis off the snow). Currently it has stock skis SHIMMED with Bergstrom triple 6 inch with NO SKI SAVERS. The toe is set to 1/4 inch out. Tried more , less, no change
Going on a long trip soon and I do not want to fight this thing all week
