Motor Cleaner

I was just wondering if you guys have ever tried to clean the scaling off of the engine components or if its a non issue just leave it alone. Is there a product that is better than most generic brands? Have my annual service coming up and I like to give it the whole wipe down.

I used to be OCD about it on the rx-1's and apexes but gave up especially since the hoods don't come off easy anymore.

10-4 yeah it’s not very often or easy to get enough hand room there.
